Several of our current undergraduate students have been accepted to various graduate schools around the country beginning in Fall of 2008: 
        Anna Bruton has been accepted into the urban studies and planning graduate program at the University of Maryland.
        John Dietrich has been accepted into the sociology graduate program at Kansas State University.
        Sarah Falkson has been accepted into the graduate program at Kutztown University.
        Emilie Gicker has been accepted into the graduate division for education at Albright College.  
        Vanessa Kim has been accepted into the school psychology graduate program at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
        Brett Lehman has been accepted into the sociology graduate program at Louisiana State University.

The department would like to thank  Dr. Chen-Yang Xiao for his service to the department and wish him well in his future endeavors.  Professor Xiao has accepted a full-time tenure track position at American University in the sociology department and will not be returning to Albright.  Please congratulate him and wish him well before he leaves since Spring 2008 will be Professor Xiao's last semester here at Albright.

As some of you may (or may not) know, each member of the sociology department assumes the duties of departmental chair for a period of three years.  Spring 2008 marks the end of Dr. Chuck Brown's three year tenure as departmental chair at Albright College.  Professor Carla Abodalo will assume the departmental chair beginning August of 2008.  Please congratulate her and wish her well in this new responsibility.
